WomenNC’s five 2013 CSW Fellows presented to a crowd of 50 students and local supporters; sharing personal stories, solutions and tactics, and how WomenNC Fellowship will impact their future plans to advocate for women’s human rights. Also included was a slide show depicting WomenNC Fellows 2009-13. Many students posed questions regarding the Fellowship program for 2014. Emcee for the evening was 2012 CSW Fellow, Abby Bouchon.
The highlight of the evening was Cyrus King, Sr.’s presentation to Brian Min as recipient of the 2nd Annual Carolyn King Honorary Scholarship, demonstrating passion and advocacy for social justice, persistence to seek out solutions, and continuously went beyond the “call of duty” of WomenNC Fellows. Brian’s topic focused on The Benefits of Men’s Engagement in Violence Prevention against Women & Girls.
