As a Junior at UNC- Chapel Hill, Isabella Higgins is a double major in Women’s Studies & Sociology, while minoring in Hispanic Studies.  On-campus service has included active Peer Educator roles (Embody – support students with eating disorders & SURJ Students United for Reproductive Justice), Students for Students International (S4Si) & involved in the UNC-Spanish House.  As a Buckley Public Service Scholar, Isabella has committed to 300+ hours of public service pre –graduation; to-date serves at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center, Companion SMART Mentor, NC Association for the Education of Young Children (NCaeyc) Planning Committee, and an intern at a local civil rights group.

Alexandria (Alex) Polk is a Sophomore at North Carolina State University (NCSU), majoring in International Studies/Political Science, and minoring in Economics.  Her campus activities include National Society for Collegiate Scholars (membership) and initiated into Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity.  Alex has extended her dance experience to serve the community as instructor & choreographer in several venues including Shining Stars Dance Program, providing dance & creative opportunities for children with special needs, and teaching assistant for Relay for Life.

As a Junior at Duke University, Sarah Scriven is majoring in Women’s Studies, while pursuing minors in Religion and African & African American Studies.  Her many campus activities include Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarship program where she plans inspiring events to encourage academic & social justice inquiry, President  of the Black Student Alliance, Program Director at Omega Phi Beta Sorority gearing events to bring awareness about violence against women, and is a researcher with the Pauli Murray Project.   Sarah volunteers at Grace Homeless Shelter,  tutors at Emily K Tutoring Center afterschool program and at the Durham’s Interfaith Hospitality Network.

Max Seunik is a Junior at UNC-Chapel Hill pursing degrees in Public Health Policy & Management, Global Studies, while minoring in Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies.  Extensive campus activities include Teaching Assistant for Great Decisions Foreign Policy Lecture Series, Webmaster UNC Honor Court, Community Empowerment Fund (CEF) Member Advocate, and Vice-Chair UNC Student Government. Max also has served his community with Legal Aid NC, Witness for Justice World Vision Canada, YouthCanada for International Dialogue, and volunteered in Mali with IntraHealth International & CapacityPlus (USAID-funded program).

Amy Watson, is majoring in Sociology and minoring in Social & Economic Justice, as a Junior at UNC-Chapel Hill and is a recent transfer from Shasta College, CA.  Her on-campus involvement includes reporter/writer for The Daily Tar Heel & Editor/Writer for The Lance at Shasta College, and served as writing & ESL tutor at Shasta College.  Amy’s public outreach includes participating in the CA Proposition 35 campaign (ban on human trafficking) & training with iDignify, mentor & coordinator for at-risk youth with Project 18, Life Coach with Global Transformation Institute, and has volunteered in Rwanda, Lebanon & Mozambique.
