Greetings WomenNC Supporters – Hope you’ve had a terrific summer!!
WomenNC kicked off it’s 5th year May 2013, as a non-profit dedicated to leading young adults to
eliminate injustices against women and girls, through leadership training and advocacy.

We want to give you a quick update about some of the behind the scenes activities WomenNC has been focusing on in the past few months!
So as not to wear out our welcome, we’ll be sending you a few short emails highlighting several exciting opportunities intended to enrich WomenNC’s programs in the very near future.
Today’s News:
- WomenNC’s Board of Directors has expanded in order to provide more leadership training and advocacy options for North Carolina young adults. Click Here to view WomenNC’s 2013/2014 Organizational Chart. We encourage volunteers to join one of WomenNC’s Committee Teams; simply fill out the Volunteer Form on our website and we’ll be in contact with you!
- A new five-year strategic plan is being developed that will enable WomenNC to focus on a number of crucial goals: extending awareness of women’s issues, seeking opportunities to engage high school students, expanding the scope and breadth of our CSW Fellowship Program, and develop collaborative partnerships.
- Speaking of the CSW Fellowship…Applications for WomenNC’s 2014 CSW Fellowship are now available! The selected CSW Student Fellows will present their research at the United Nations’ 58th Commission on the Status of Women, in March 2014. Note: Deadline for receipt of all Fellowship Application materials is September 30, 2013.
There will be plenty more to come from WomenNC, so be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming announcements – including one detailing the appearance of our President, Beth Dehghan, on WUNC-TV the end of August!
