Faculty from Meredith’s History & Political Science Departments will share the findings of a report on the status of women in North Carolina politics and will announce the results of the first-ever political poll conducted by Meredith College faculty and students. The presentation will highlight the problems contributing to women’s under-representation in North Carolina politics and proposed solutions addressing this issue.

The event features reflections on the global status of women. WomenNC’s 2015 Fellows from UNC-CH, Duke University, NC State University, and Meredith College will report on their experiences from the United Nation’s 59th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
The 4th Annual Carolyn King Scholarship Award will be presented to the 2015 WomenNC Fellow who has most exemplified the determination and strength of conviction for social justice.
