New WomenNC Board and Committee Members Announced
Board and Committee members recently chosen by WomenNC will serve from 2015-2016
Raleigh, July 14, 2014 -WomenNC kicked off an exciting sixth year with a volunteer reception in July. The organization welcomed twenty new members and is happy to introduce its latest group of passionate volunteers, who collectively bring a variety of experiences to the Raleigh nonprofit.
Amongst its newest volunteers, WomenNC inducted five new board members. Announcing: MacKenzie Buice as Secretary; Carla Nunn as Assistant Treasurer; Tyesha West and Lauren Godwin as Event co Chairs; and Alex Polk as the CSW co-chair. Our new board members are joined by two new advisory board members and fourteen new committee members joining the Advocacy & Outreach collition, fundaising, sponsorhip, events and public relations.
With a broad range of professional backgrounds, the 2015 board inductees and committee members bring a variety of degrees, knowledge, and persepectives to WomenNC. This year, comittee members will have a strong focus on volunteer recruitment, community outreach, and advocacy. Each new volunteer brings along their passion and dedication for women in North Carolina and around the world.
WomenNC’s mission is to lead North Carolina’s young adults in the elimination of injustice against women and girls. Through our signature WomenNC Commission on the Status of Women Fellowship Program, college and university students in the North Carolina Triangle and Triad Regions, are provided training and networking platforms to mobilize and influence their peers and respective communities to understand and value women’s human rights and to engage in issues important to equality for women and girls.
