WomenNC scholars have conducted research on the status of women and girls in North Carolina under the direction of “femtors” form RTI’s Global Gender Center. Preparing reports that are both geographically and content specific, in addition to completing serious research endeavors, WomenNC scholars also devised policy solutions to ameliorate the situation their work uncovered, presenting concrete ways to achieve gender equity in the state.
Scholars initially presented their work at RTI on March 4. They were scheduled to present it at the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women, which was all but cancelled. Instead, on Wednesday, March 18 at 10am they will present their work virtually via a Zoom meeting.
We invite you to join the scholars, learn about gender disparities in North Carolina and understand the specific policies they suggest to “move the needle forward.”
