February 11th was the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
WomenNC celebrated the next generation of women scientists with RTI Global Gender Center over a Zoom live event at 12 PM on February 11th.
“February is Black History Month. We would be remiss in not to highlight a lot of the amazing Black scholars, women in science, who have really paved the way for the rest of us.” Learn about some of these inspiring Black women scientists here (5:26).
Listen to the Youth Leaders:
@19:50 – they describe the impact of their “femtors” in their journey of becoming scientists
@26:19 – they discuss their WomenNC projects and what they are most proud of
@41:03 – they share advice for their peers
Previous WomenNC scholars, Bridget Pittman-Blackwell, Jackie Lanning, Naila Segule, and Isa van der Drift, provided updates on where they are today and what research or service they are doing to impact the world.
