Critical Conversations: Let's Talk Intersectionality

WomenNC talks Intersectionality with Senator Sydney Batch, Dr. Ariana Vigil, and Vicki Smith as we discuss the importance of intersectionality and how they fight for it in their careers and daily lives.

Dr. Ariana Vigil is a Druscilla French Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Senator Sydney Batch (D-17) has served as a Senator since 2021, previously serving as the House Representative of District 37 from 2019-2021, and is a co-founder of Batch, Poore, and Williams, PC.

Vicki Smith is the Executive Director of the Alliance of Disability Advocates, a federally funded Center for Independent Living (CIL).  Prior to working at Alliance, Vicki was the Executive Director of Disability Rights NC from 2007 to 2018, when she retired.
