Ailene Tan - Social Media and Outreach Intern

WNC participated in General Services Foundation's Young Nonprofit Fellowship. GSF paired us with a high school student interested in learning about nonprofits and helping the organization in an impactful way. Ailene is a rising high school senior and was very excited to intern with WomenNC because her her interest in in women's equality. In light of recent developments that put into question women's reproductive rights, Ailene believes WNC's work to advance gender equality is more important than ever. Ailene has helped us spread awareness of gender inequality in the state while gaining valuable experience in marketing and insight into the inner workings of a community-based nonprofit like WomenNC.

Audrey Toney - Website Intern

Audrey is an undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill, studying Computer Science and Statistics. She joined WomenNC as our website intern focused on improving our digital presence, adding new content as well as making improvements and updates to the site. In the future, Audrey plans a career in web design and development. Because gender equity is a cause very important to her, Audrey has loved learning about WNC's advocacy work and is excited to see its continued impact on fighting gender inequality in North Carolina.
